Venturi

Product Summary

The Venturi Tube, also known as Venturi, is a Differential Pressure device that performs flow measurement based on the pressure variation that occurs as the fluid passes between the wider section and the throat of the tube. This phenomenon is grounded in the principles of Bernoulli and the continuity equation, which play a crucial role in the accuracy of this measurement.

Main Features:

  • Low Permanent Pressure Loss: Minimizes flow resistance, maintaining system efficiency.
  • Minimal Maintenance: Requires little intervention to keep the instrument in operation.
  • Low Pressure Drop for Measurement: Provides precise measurement with minimal pressure drop.

Operation: The Venturi Tube consists of a closed tube with a precisely calculated conical section. This design allows the increase in fluid velocity in the tube's throat to be converted into a pressure decrease. This pressure drop is proportional to the fluid flow, according to Bernoulli's Theorem. The instrument is equipped with pressure taps that convert this pressure variation into a flow reading through differential pressure transducers.
