Operation: The Sonda 6 is composed of a metallic body that incorporates multiple high-pressure taps. These taps measure the stagnation pressure profile resulting from the fluid's velocity profile in motion. The average flow velocity is directly proportional to the diameters of the measurement orifices and the cross-sectional area of the high-pressure chamber. Additionally, low-pressure taps are present, and due to the vortex generation by the instrument's body, they allow measurement of low pressure independent of the process static pressure. This makes the instrument's measurement process less sensitive to Reynolds number and flow. The Sonda 6 operates on the same measurement principle as high-pressure taps.
